Get Involved / Join Us
For the Forum to be a success we need you to get involved; sharing your thoughts and ideas with us through public meetings, online surveys and the such like, spreading the word about the Forum to raise awareness, membership and representation and directly volunteering to help on steering groups and in practical projects. We need both “bums on seats” and “bums off seats”, working with us on the ground.
Our Constitution creates 2 categories of membership:
- individual membership - any individual with an interest in The Common is welcome to join and participate in the Forum, irrespective of whether they may also belong a formal group that is represented on the Forum or not
- group membership - for a nominated representative of a formally-constituted group or other organised, interested group.
Membership is currently free, but you do need to register with us. This is important both in order for us to prove to Council that we are reaching out to Common users, and for us to assess how successful we are being in that goal. Please use our online individual member or group registration forms or download a membership form using the links on the RHS, fill it in and email the completed form to us. If using the downloaded forms, it really is useful if you are willing to share your home address (or at least your postcode) with us for membership analysis purposes.
We will then add you to our membership database and to our secure, blind copy email newsletter distribution list. All membership data will be held and used in solely compliance with our data protection policy contained in our Constitution and stated on the membership form.
If you are on facebook, please follow our facebook page to receive regular updates and news. We are also on twitter.
If you are a photographer and would like to share your photos of “The Common” with other members, please also send them in.
Please do get involved, in whatever way you are able to
