VOLUNTEER - 2018 PROJECTS AND WORK PARTIES

We have recently been awarded a Community Chest grant from Southampton City Council to enable us to run volunteer projects on The Common - the grant will allow us to arrange insurance and buy tools and equipment. We have agreed with Council an initial set of 4 practical projects that SCF -lead volunteer work parties can undertake on The Common during 2018. These represent a combination of:

We hope that there will be something for everyone to get involved in, whatever your interests, age and abilities. These projects also have different timings to allow us to hold regular work parties throughout the year - we hope to run one at least every 2 weeks on the weekend and potentially short ones over midweek summer evenings.

All work parties will be advertised on our facebook page and we have set up an online “sign up” system run through SignUp.com to allow you to sign up for particular days and to manage the volunteer lists for work parties . Here's how it works:

2) Review the options listed and select the events(s) you would like to attend.

3) Sign up for the event. t's easy - you don’t need to register an account or keep a password on SignUp.com.

SCF holds ull 3rd party and volunteer accident insurance and provides tools, equipment and PPE for each work party.


If your employer runs a  staff volunteering scheme and you would like to get involved as a group, please contact us directly and we will arrange workday volunteering opportunities specifically for your team.
